School Story
Having had the privilege of conducting the SHS Band's performance of Concertino and witnessing the entire 12+ member percussion ensemble accomplish the feat of nailing the 6 full minute long cadenza with Ken Minteer not missing a beat on his snare and Al Yannelli keeping tune and thunder with his timpani despite his having broken his nose on the high jump earlier that very afternoon.
Another favorite memory has always been seeing the glow and the joy on Susan Cahn's face after her lead performances as Eliza in My Fair Lady.
And cheering and rollicking with several of us band members when our host family in Holland served us a punch bowl potion of rock candy, fruit and brandy that they had prepared and had been fermenting for months in anticipation of our arrival.
